The Hamersleys grew up in the Wheatbelt town of York, once adults they pursued the city lights then decided that country life was where the heart lay. In 2015 Charlie, Andrew his wife Jayne purchased the Kingsley Motel and not only are they rejuvenating the weary bones of the venue, but dishing up impressive local yield in their restaurant. The Hamersleys urge the farmtofork’ approach and source local ingredients from the region such as beef, Barron, fruit and veg, milk and cream. There are also 32 Southern Forests wines on our wine list with red wine being a large focus down here, Jayne Hamersley. The brothers who own the deposit (Andrew and Charlie) are some of the friendliest people you will ever face and cannot do ample for you. The bar had a very hospitable feel and the food in the restaurant (dinner and breakfast) was excellent. At The Kingsley, we like to retain things local in our restaurant and support the FarmtoFork approach. We source local beef, lamb, chicken, eggs, Barron, fruit and vegetables, milk, cream more. Our aim is to evoke a warm, country atmosphere keeping the restaurant menu approachable, but with a fresh twist. Wonderful service and greeted with a friendly smile. The gentlemen were delightful at all times. Had fair undergone a make over with fresh bedding and bath towels. The restaurant food was AMAZING from their fresh chef. The service was fantastic, the food was divine and the owners staff went overhead and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect.
