What you should know about Diamond Forest Cottages
With over 100 cordial farm animals our daily animal feeding is a must do for the kids, where you can experience the kangaroos up accessible and personal, collect the eggs, discard time in the petting pen with the chickens, pat a horse, donkey or pony, watch the peacocks and turkeys strut their stuff, check out our hungry pigs Charlotte, Vivian and Wilbur, talk to the alpacas, hand feed our cordial goats and cows or maybe even bottle feed a lamb or two depending on the time of year. Provided lower is a short overview of what to see and do around the Pemberton region. Although trivial compared to the productive farms in the Manjimup and Pemberton areas, the chores at Diamond Forest Farm Stay are much the identical as on a important property. A male Guinea Pig, like Mouse, is called a boar and a female is called a sow (these are the same names given to pigs). Each Guinea pig has five diverse types of hair that make up their coat. But.our pigs have been very popular with our guests over the years and they have gotten a lot more food than they should have so now our mini’ pigs are about the size of a Labrador dog. Sometimes we let her out into the dam paddock. Nugget came to Diamond Forest Farm Stay in 2007, as a 4 day worn calf. Nugget is a breed of bull called a Jersey. The third breed of sheep we have at Diamond Forest Farm Stay are dopers. Every year we have fresh lambs born at Diamond Forest Farm Stay. At Diamond Forest Farm Stay we have two types of chickens. Sometimes they visit our guests staying in our cottages. Usually donkeys are old as pack animals but here at Diamond Forest Cottages Farm Stay they are here to make friends with our guests and they like that. To keep Vivian sound from the dogs they put her into the chicken pen. So we put her into the paddock right following to them so they could all face in safety through the fence. But Vivian decided she didn’t want to wait so she pushed under the fence to be with Charlotte and Wilbur. All three of our goats were born here on the farm. We currently have 3 alpacas at Diamond Forest Farm Stay. Bambi came to Diamond Forest Farm Stay in 2007, as a 4 day old calf. Most of her calves go to other farms but we do retain them here for a while until they grow large sufficient to be on their own. Chopra, our one eared, red kangaroo, came to Diamond Forest Farm Stay as a very young joey. All of our guests can get up accessible to our kangaroos and offer them a part. Lavender and Orchard Cottages are the family cottages at Diamond Forest farm stay.
